Jim Culbertson, Allegheny District Church Planting Director

Serving as Church Planting Director on the Allegheny District

So that we don't overlook "Samaria," or the region between Warren County and "the ends of the earth," we support the efforts of the EFCA Allegheny District to plant churches right here on our district, which includes western Pennsylvania, western New York, eastern Ohio, all of West Virginia, and the panhandle of Maryland. We have 29 established churches, and lots of other "irons in the fire" in the form of new embryonic churches.

Jim previously was senior pastor of Crossroads Community Church in McKean, PA (near Edinboro). He was founding pastor of that church, and has caught the vision for the growth of the kingdom of God through multiplication of new, healthy churches.

Jim's wife's name is Wendy Jo, and they have three children, Karmyn, Kyle and Kameron. They reside in Edinboro, PA.

Church planting values on the Allegheny District –
  • We value the strong use of systems for successful planting.
  • We value  the involvement of our existing Allegheny District Evangelical Free Churches (and other like minded ministries) in the planting process.
  • We value church-plants with a clear plan for reaching lost people.
  • We value church-plants who plan to reproduce more church-plants.
  • We value the right chemistry and clear involvement of our church-plants in our District and the EFCA movement.
